If you are planning to hold an event in Caldwell County that takes place outside the limits of a municipality, you may be required to apply for a Mass Gathering Permit.

When a Permit Is Required

A Mass Gathering Permit is generally required if:

• The event is expected to attract more than 2,500 people; or
• The event is expected to continue for more than five (5) continuous hours; and
• The event is held outside the corporate limits of a city.

Permitting is governed by Chapter 751 of the Texas Health & Safety Code. Applications must be filed well in advance of the event date.
